Taylor- My personal connection is how Francie is able to connect in some sort of way to everyone one and everything she comes in contact with. Francie has a deep understanding and meaning for the things that happen in life. She has a very good observation of what goes on around her. Annexcia-My personal connection is how Sissy looks for other ways to find the love she would like to spread. Sissy can't bare children so she goes for many men her way to give them love. How ever I'm not as connected in that situation. For me I search for a way to spread my love by helping people that are in my path. I love to be a hero,to a persons backbone, and that is how I connect to the book. Tatiana- my personal connection to the book are the relations on gender and sex. During Francie's birth, Mary rommely comments that to be born a woman is to be born into a humble life of pain. This references the many pains of childbirth that women share and how they have few options in life. Even though all women seem to have this common struggle they seem to also turn on each other. However, women are equipped to handle pain both physically and emotionally, as men are not. Point being, I feel as though this provides the many challenging ideas about how a woman should. In this day and age they are many equal opportunities for both genders.
Emily- My personal connection would have to be to Francie and how she is the oldest in her family. I know what it's like to be the older sibling and how your younger ones don't always appreciate you and they rebuff you sometimes. I'm also a very big reader and dreamer like Francie, so I connect to her in that way as well. And her fire escape is my tree house. We're a lot alike.
